Families, including those in Mitchell will benefit from the Turnbull Government’s reforms to the handling of family law matters in the federal court system.

A single new Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCA) will be established from 1 January, 2019 through the amalgamation of the existing Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia.

A new Family Law Appeal Division in the Federal Court of Australia will also be established to hear all appeals in family law matters from the newly created FCFCA.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, has welcomed the 2018-19 Federal Budget – a plan to build a stronger economy to benefit all Australians.

“We are providing responsible tax relief – starting in the Budget year for low and middle income earners – to ensure Australians keep more of their hard earned income. We are also lifting tax brackets to ensure that wages don't get eaten up by higher taxes.” Mr Hawke said. “65,616 taxpayers in Mitchell will stand to benefit from the low and middle income tax relief in the upcoming 2018-19 financial year.”

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, has urged young athletes to apply for a Local Sporting Champions grant to support their involvement in sport.

“The Coalition Government is committed to getting Australian kids more active, more often,” Alex Hawke said.

“That’s why I’m encouraging young athletes, coaches and officials in Mitchell to apply for a Local Sporting Champions grant before the deadline closes on June 30.”

Across Australia, hundreds of thousands of people have attended services in cities and regional communities, including over 10,000 at the Hills ANZAC Dawn Service held by the Castle Hill RSL Sub-Branch.
