Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, encourages the Hills community to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation on Anzac Day 2018, which marks the 100th anniversary of the last year of the First World War.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, welcomed the Turnbull Government’s announcement of the Western Sydney City Deal to build a heavy rail line to Western Sydney Airport.
“This announcement will be fantastic news for our community because the Government will ensure a heavy rail line from Rouse Hill to the Western Sydney Airport”, said Alex Hawke.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, welcomes the latest employment data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which shows a decrease in the unemployment rate in Mitchell.
The suburb of Castle Hill saw a significant drop in the unemployment rate from 5.2% in December 2016 to 3.3% in the December 2017 quarter, while Bella Vista decreased from 4.3% to 2.6% in the same period.
“I am very pleased the unemployment rate in Mitchell is well below both the state and national averages.” Alex Hawke said.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, is urging interested local residents to have their say on the staffing of Aged Care homes in the North West Sydney region and across the nation, by participating in an online survey or by contributing to the current national review of the Aged Care workforce.
“Everyone understands how important appropriately resourced and trained staff are to providing the care our senior Australians deserve,” said Alex Hawke MP.
