Alex Hawke Congratulates New Mayor and Deputy Mayor

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, welcomed the election of Clr Dr Michelle Byrne as Mayor (Adjunct Professor) and Clr Yvonne Keane, as Deputy Mayor for The Hills Shire Council.

“Congratulations to Clr Dr Michelle Byrne, Mayor and Clr Yvonne Keane, Deputy Mayor on being elected by their colleagues. They will continue the strong leadership and commitment in obtaining great outcomes for the Hills district, said Alex Hawke.

“In particular I want to thank Clr Andrew Jefferies, who has been an excellent mayor and is to be applauded for his great service over the past year. There have been many changes to our shire with the progress of the Sydney Metro North West rail line, continual housing growth and plans put in place to manage the future growth and changes in our district. I also commend Clr Jefferies on his commitment to maintaining strong fiscal management throughout his time as mayor.
