Grants Funding Round Now Open

Alex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell, advises the local community that applications for grant funding under the new Department of Social Services (DSS) grant arrangements are now open.

The Coalition Government is committed to empowering not-for-profit community groups to deliver services that respond to issues in the Hills district through this new round of grants.

There have been significant improvements to grant funding under this Government, which recognises and respects the valuable work that community organisations  do to support vulnerable people throughout Australia to become self-sufficient and build sustainable communities.

The Department of Social Services (DSS) new grant programmes are:

·         Ageing and Aged Care

·         Families and Communities

·         Housing and Homelessness; and

·         Disability, Mental Health and Carers.

“To assist organisations to see where services fit within the new programmes, the Department has developed the DSS Grants Services Map which illustrates the types of services available for funding in the current application process, said Alex Hawke.

“I encourage all community organisations that are eligible to consider submitting an application for funding under the new Department of Social Services new grant arrangements. Applications close at 2pm, Wednesday 23 July 2014.

“If I can be of any assistance to your organisation through the application process or with any other matter, please do not hesitate to get in touch.” Alex Hawke concluded.
