Prime Minister appoints Alex Hawke Chair of the House Committee on the Environment
Alex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell was today appointed by Prime Minster Tony Abbott as Chair of the House Standing Committee on the Environment.
“I am delighted to be asked to Chair this committee by the Prime Minister. It is a great honour to be asked to serve in this way in the 44th Parliament and I look forward to working with Minister Hunt and all of my Parliamentary colleagues on the myriad of important policies pertaining to the environment” Alex Hawke said.
In addition to this, Mr Hawke has been appointed as a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade, the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters and the House Standing Committee on Education and Employment.
“My membership of these committees will allow me to give greater voice to the concerns of all in our local community. This is an important opportunity to ensure our environment is managed in a responsible and forward thinking way” Alex Hawke concluded.
