Remembrance Day 2015: Local Services

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, encourages the community to pause for one minute’s silence at 11am on Wednesday, 11 November 2015, to pay tribute to the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve our nation in times of war, conflict and on peacekeeping operations.

“This year marks the 97th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18).On Remembrance Day, Wednesday 11 November, we remember all of them, Australians who gave so much for their country,” Alex Hawke said.

“I encourage the Hills community to join together this Remembrance Day, pause for a moment’s silence at 11am and wear a red poppy to support the RSL’s Poppy Day Appeal.

It is here in local communities that the legacy is carried on, ensuring we never forget those who have served, particularly the more than 102,000 Australians who have lost their lives wearing our country’s uniform” concluded Alex Hawke MP.
