Australia Day 2025 – Reflect, Respect and Celebrate

Australia Day, is an important part of recognising who we are as a nation, where we have come from and as we live in a peaceful prosperous and free Australia, how can we not recognise and celebrate who we are.

A special privilege to start Australia Day at the Castlebrook Cemetery placing Australian flags on the graves of veterans. So many soldiers, sailors and airmen buried here, warriors all who fought for Australia and our freedom. Thank you to the Castle Hill & District RSL Sub-branch for coordinating the Australia Day Flag Planting ceremony.

Castle Hill Heritage Park is on the site of the Old Government Farm of the early British Colony in Sydney where Castle Hill Rotary Club hosted the flag raising ceremony and BBQ. Thank you to the awesome Club volunteers for cooking up an awesome Aussie BBQ breakfast enjoyed by a big attendance of keen locals.

It was a pleasure to also attend both the City of Parramatta Council’s and The Hills Shire Council’s Australia Day Citizenship Ceremonies. Congratulations to the 147 residents who took the oath/pledge on this significant day.

Australia Day is a day for all Australians to celebrate what is great about our nation. It is a day for all of us to come together as equals and give thanks that we live in the greatest country on earth. We can and should acknowledge our history and imperfections as we celebrate the things that make us proud to be Australian.

So, I say to all Australians, be proud of what we have achieved and who we are and hope you had a great Australia Day.
