SAFER COMMUNITIES FUND ROUND 6 – INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS - Closing date EXTENDED: 19 AUGUST 2021
The Morrison Government is providing up to $10 million for security infrastructure through round six of the Safer Communities Fund.
The security infrastructure grant opportunity is now open and closes on 19 August 2021.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said this funding will help ensure people in our local community feel safe as they go about their daily lives.
“The infrastructure funding will not only improve security and protect communities through projects such as CCTV, fencing and bollards, it will also keep local people employed, boosting local economies.”
“Infrastructure grants are available to community organisations, places of worship, schools and pre-schools, and local councils to help implement and boost crime prevention and security initiatives such as CCTV, lighting and bollards, said Alex Hawke.
The grant opportunity aims to ensure these organisations are able to reduce the risk of crime, violence, and anti-social behaviour driven by racial and/or religious intolerance by funding crime prevention initiatives.
Grants available are between $10,000 to $500,000. The maximum grant amount per location or school campus is $250,000.
The Safer Communities Fund is a long-standing program that has invested more than $215 million since 2016 and provided over 600 grants directly to local communities.
