MP's dump a bucket on Alex Hawke
Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, accepted the challenge from the many friends and colleagues including, David Ali, President of Motor Neurone Disease Australia to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge.
“The point of this ALS campaign, known in Australia as Motor Neurone Disease (MND), is to raise vital funds for research to ensure we find a cure for this appalling disease.
“There were a lot of people who wanted to dump a bucket on me and I thank my colleagues, Lucy Wicks MP, Federal Member for Robertson and Fiona Scott MP, Federal Member for Lindsay for duly assisting me in the Ice Bucket Challenge on the front lawn of Parliament House, Canberra.
“Thank you to the 30,000 Australians who have participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge so far with $1.6 million raised going towards research.
“I nominated my friend and colleague, the Hon Scott Morrison MP, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Dave Smith, CEO of the NRL and Clr Andrew Jefferies, Mayor and, Clr Michelle Byrne, Deputy Mayor of Hills Shire Council,”, concluded Alex Hawke MP.
