New Classrooms opened at Australian International Academy, Kellyville
Students and staff at Australian International Academy today celebrated the opening of eight new classrooms, built with the help of $800,000 in Australian Government funding.
Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, opened the new facilities on behalf of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan.
An $800,000 Australian Government grant helped fund the $3,056,868 construction efforts alongside a $2,256,868 contribution from the Australian International Academy community.
The project included eight new classrooms, offices, store rooms, a lift and an overflow car park.
Mr Hawke said the new facilities will ensure Australian International Academy students continue to receive a great education.
“The Government believes in an education system that puts students first. We are committed to helping equip all Australian students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world by creating the best possible learning environments,” Mr Hawke said.
“Everyone who worked so hard to make these wonderful new facilities a reality has shown exactly what can be achieved by a school with strong leadership and a clear vision for the future.”
Australian Government funding was provided through the Capital Grants Programme.
