Alex Hawke pays tribute to Warren Bowden

Vale Warren Bowden, a true gentleman, who lived a significant life serving others.This morning  local resident, Warren Robert Bowden, 84 was farewelled by over 200 people at Wesley Uniting Church, Castle Hill, said Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP.

Warren was well known in the community having spent his entire life serving the Hills initially as a preacher but later as a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Castle Hill and with the Hills District  Historical Society Inc and as Chairman of the Heritage Park Management Committee. 

Warren will be best remembered for his love of heritage and his vision for a Heritage Park.  He was the driving force in securing the preservation of our convict history, the Castle Hill Heritage Park, the site of the convict break out for the Rouse Hill Rebellion, the only convict rebellion (1804) in Australia's history.

It was his vision and his dream that the park be established so that future generations would have a place to go and to enjoy themselves as well as a place to remember our history, said Alex Hawke, Member for Mitchell.

“His legacy will live forever and thanks to Warren and his love for the Hills and for heritage, future generations will be able to enjoy and appreciate our past.  We truly are grateful for Warren and for his service to our community”, concluded Alex Hawke MP.

Warren is survived by his wife Olive and his five children and spouses, Lance and Johanna, Neville and Jen, Peter and Carolyn, David and Kerry and Ruth and Anthony as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
