Australia Day 2015
Australia Day 26 January 2015, our day to reflect on who we are as a nation and to celebrate the wonderful country we live in. (Photo from Castle Hill Heritage Park flag Raising Ceremony in 2013).
We have certainly come a long way as a nation since First Fleet arrived in 1788. While each year we experience new triumphs and tragedies, we continue to be a dynamic and forward-looking nation. There is a thread of values and traits stretching back from today through our history. It continues to serve us well and is infused into communities right around Australia—we are proud of our freedom, value our individual right to a ‘fair-go’, and are ready to pitch-in and help out others in need.
There are a variety of events held in the Hills district to celebrate Australia Day. Click here for details.
