2021 virtual Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum
The Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, together with Tristan Smith, Chief Executive Officer, held a virtual Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum on Friday 8 October.
“The completely virtual Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum was an amazing success with 13 schools, over 180 students and volunteer leaders and 20 breakout rooms!
“This year marked 20 years of the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum and whilst COVID-19 prevented us from our usual 2.5 camp, this alternative format ensured we were able to still support this cohort of student leaders and provide them with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills during a year that’s needed leaders more than ever”, said Tristan Smith, CEO of Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum.
The students participated in keynotes focused on leadership and resilience, team building activities and discussions about the forum's values of service, integrity and courage.
“I pay tribute to the Principals for without their strong support the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum would not be as successful as it is each year, said Alex Hawke.
“Thank you to the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum committee, volunteer leaders, schools, keynote speakers Matt Kershaw and Barnaby Howarth.
“We would like to thank our valued sponsors; our major sponsors, Nature’s Sunshine Products Australia and Castle Towers - QIC, who all continued to support us with this vision.
“The continuing sponsorship from these businesses is integral to the success of the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum,” concluded Alex Hawke.
