Opportunity for parents to have their say: Inquiry into Social Media and Online Safety
The Morrison Government is committed to keeping Australians safe online. Social media can too often be a cowards’ palace, where the anonymous can bully, harass and ruin lives without consequence. We would not accept these faceless attacks in a school, at home, in the office, or on the street. And we must not stand for it online, on our devices and in our homes.
All Australians should be able to engage online confidently, to work, communicate, and be entertained without fear of abuse, humiliation or exposure to harmful content.
Submissions are now open for Australians to have their say in the Inquiry into Social Media and Online Safety - putting big tech under the microscope as it examines toxic material on social media platforms and the dangers this poses to the well-being of Australian children.
I encourage all residents, especially parents to share their views and experiences directly with the committee. To have your say visit here.
Submissions addressing the terms of reference are due by 12 January 2022.
