Vale Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth The Second

The State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II took place on Monday, 19 September 2022, paying tribute to her extraordinary 70 year reign, and Her Majesty’s remarkable life of service as Head of State, Nation and Commonwealth.

The Funeral service and associated ceremonial arrangements were watched by over 4 billion people. This immense show of respect from around the globe is a powerful reminder of the mark she has made and how grateful Australia is to have had her as our Sovereign.  Her Majesty has left an incredible legacy, one that we have benefited from and will always remember her remarkable life.

On Thursday, 22 September, I attended the National Day of Mourning service at Parliament House, Canberra and had the opportunity to place a sprig of wattle on the wreath in honour and tribute to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
