Australia Day 2023

Like every other nations history, Australian history is both good and bad, and can be complex in its interpretation.

Every year the elitist ‘pile on’ on Australia and its culture gets louder and more demanding. As if hating on your country is a virtue. As if moving Australia Day from 26 January will address the ‘concerns’.

The truth is almost all these calls to change the date of our national day are not motivated by correcting the historical record or reconciling with aboriginal people. They are instead motivated by a wholly negative view of Australia its history and its people and the free nation we continue to be.

For most people Australia is a great country with great people and a great culture. Our free, open and democratic society is more equal and fair than any other. So many want to come here for our freedom, fairness prosperity and safety. Long may it remain so! Happy Australia Day!!
