More Mitchell residents are visiting their doctor without having to pay a cent, with new data showing a record GP bulk billing rate for the September quarter.
Member for Mitchell, the Hon. Alex Hawke MP said the data for the first quarter of the 2018-19 financial year has the GP bulk billing rate at a record 91.8%.
“This is 0.6 per cent higher than the same period last year and 2.4 per cent higher than the same period under Labor”, Alex Hawke said.
Home owners and property renters in the Mitchell electorate will be hit hard by Labor’s ill-conceived property tax.
“In Mitchell there are more than 13 000 people who negative gear their property and stand to lose if Labor has its way,” Mitchell MP Alex Hawke said.
“Labor’s property tax will not only punish those who negative gear, but every Australian with equity in their home will be hurt by Labor’s policy.
“Labor’s property tax is a lose-lose policy - if you own your own home it will be worth less, and if you rent your home it will cost you more.”
One hundred years ago on 11 November 1918 at 11am, guns fell silent on the Western Front. After more than four years, the First World War was finally over.
Today we know 11 November as Remembrance Day, but its origins started 100 years ago when the Armistice ending the fighting during the First World War was signed.
This year we commemorate the Centenary of Armistice.
The Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, together with Tristan Smith, Acting Chief Executive Officer, hosted 157 local students at the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum at Vision Valley from the 18 – 20 October 2018.
“The Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum was an amazing success with 157 students from 15 local high schools involved – the Forum is a significant opportunity for the students to be inspired and encouraged for their future potential in the lead up to their final year of school.
