Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, said the Abbott Coalition Government is delivering on its commitment to introduce Trade Support Loans for apprentices to encourage more young people to take up a trade and complete their qualification.

“All too often, young apprentices do not complete their training because they cannot afford the costs associated with undertaking an apprenticeship,

“These loans will ease the financial burden and help increase apprenticeship completion rates,” Alex Hawke said

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, said the Abbott Government’s first Budget is laying the foundations for a strong and prosperous economy with less debt.

“At the election, the Coalition made the solemn promise to get the Budget back under control, as well as scrap the Carbon Tax, end the waste, stop the boats and build the roads of the 21st century.  This Budget keeps that pledge”, said Alex Hawke.

“The Budget is part of the Abbott Government’s Economic Action Strategy to build a strong, prosperous economy for a safe, secure Australia.

The students and schools in Mitchell will benefit from the Abbott Government’s record recurrent funding investment of $64.5 billion in schools over the next four years.

“This government has matched the former governments funding for schools over the period to 2016-17 as promised at the election and has increased its investment by adding $1.2 billion more than the previous government,” Alex Hawke said.

“The Abbott Government is honouring its commitment to education. The commitments we made at the election are fully funded, ensuring no additional pressure on the Budget.

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, encourages the residents of Mitchell to have a say in the future of our nation’s heritage.

The Australian Government had released a draft Australian Heritage Strategy for public comment until 9 June 2014.“It’s an opportunity for all Australians to discuss what heritage icons should be protected, and how best to manage and maintain these places, Alex Hawke said. 

 “The aim of the Strategy is to provide outcomes, priorities and actions that effectively recognise, manage and celebrate Australia’s unique heritage.

A small shopfront in Rouse Hill is having a big impact on the way people access Centrelink and Medicare.

The first of its kind in Australia, the Rouse Hill self-service shopfront has been embraced by the local community with 150­ – 200 people each day using the onsite facilities.

Minister for Human Services Senator the Hon Marise Payne said the shopfront provides a more flexible way of connecting the local community with government services.
