Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, encourages parents to chat to their children and let them know that bullying and violence has no place in our schools.

On the 2014 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, Alex Hawke said the day was a valuable opportunity for parents and students to come together with their school communities to create safe and supportive learning environments free from bullying and violence.

The Auditor-General, Mr Ian McPhee PSM will inquire into Labor’s $300 million Early Years Quality Fund (EYQF) following a request from Alex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell.

“Following the release of the PricewaterhouseCoopers report into the EYQF, I was deeply concerned by the numerous probity issues raised. In my view, the program required further scrutiny which was why I requested the Auditor-General to undertake a review.” Alex Hawke said.

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, welcomed the Abbott Government’s introduction of legislation and tabled documents to repeal over 10,000 unnecessary and counter-productive pieces of legislation and regulations.

“This is an important step toward the Coalition’s commitment of cutting $1 billion in red and green tape each year to benefit businesses, schools and community groups.  This will improve our nation’s competitiveness, help to create more jobs and lower household costs.

   Alex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell today announced that aged care providers in Mitchell will      be able to apply for funds under the next Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) from May 2014.

“This Round marks an important step forward in the Government’s reform agenda of the aged care sector,” Alex Hawke said.

“The Abbott Government recognises that many older Australians wish to remain in their own home for as long as possible.”
