Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, calls for new places to be included on the National Heritage List.

National Heritage places are of outstanding heritage value to the nation and reveal the richness and diversity of Australia’s extraordinarily natural environment. Mitchell is no exception and is home to many of these iconic places.

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, has confirmed the Norwest Child Care Centre as one of forty sites across Australia selected to take part in the Abbott Government’s trial of a second language in the year before school.

Alex Hawke says “the $9.8 million Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) trial aims to help generate an interest in language studies which can be built on in later years”.

Vale Warren Bowden, a true gentleman, who lived a significant life serving others.This morning  local resident, Warren Robert Bowden, 84 was farewelled by over 200 people at Wesley Uniting Church, Castle Hill, said Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP.

Warren was well known in the community having spent his entire life serving the Hills initially as a preacher but later as a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Castle Hill and with the Hills District  Historical Society Inc and as Chairman of the Heritage Park Management Committee.

Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, today has asked the Hills Shire Council and the NSW Government to urgently upgrade the intersection of Hector Court and Memorial Avenue, Kellyville.

“In light of today’s tragedy at this intersection involving a 17 year old driver and a school bus these old rural roads need to be quickly brought into an urban road that is adequate for this rapidly expanding part of North West Sydney.
