The Coalition Government has today announced a further $305 million in red tape reduction decisions to ease the burden on Australian businesses, community organisations, families and individuals.
Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, said the measures in the Coalition's third Repeal Day built on the $2.1 billion in red tape reduction decisions announced by the Government in October 2014.
This Saturday, Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, the Australian Federal Police, and representatives from other agencies will march in every state and territory capital city - and Townsville - to mark the completion of Operation Slipper.
Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, said this national commemoration recognises the achievements and sacrifices of more than 34,500 Australian personnel who deployed as part of Operation Slipper.
It was a real privilege to officially launch the Lisa Harnum Foundation this morning at Castle Hill. The Lisa Harnum Foundation has been established in honour and memory of the life of Lisa who was thrown to her death from the balcony of her apartment in July 2011. This was the horrific and tragic case that gripped Sydney and Australia and graphically showed to so many what an abusive relationship can be like.
The Australian Government understands that the work performed by members of the Australian Defence Force is unique and crucial to our nation and our security.
In recognition of these unique circumstances, the Government has decided to increase the pay for ADF personnel to two per cent per annum, over the life of the agreement, with effect from the next pay day.
This keeps ADF pay above the current annual inflation rate of 1.7 per cent.
Federal Member for Mitchell, Alex Hawke MP, said the Hills Shire Council in the electorate of Mitchell will today receive their latest share of Australian Government $2.1 billion Roads to Recovery programme to assist with local road construction and maintenance.
The Australian Government is paying over $117 million to 297 local government authorities nationwide, including $403,575 in Roads to Recovery Payments to the Hills Shire Council in Mitchell.
